Self Myofascial Release is becoming a complement to yoga as it's an effective tool for reducing pain and enhancing range of motion. This training will include a more in-depth study of connective tissue and fascial anatomy, function and dysfunction of the tissue, and the therapeutic application of SMFR techniques in a yoga setting. This is a whole body approach and also reinforces knowledge of anatomy and movement. SMFR tools and techniques will be covered as well as approaches to teaching private and group classes. Myofascial release tools will be required for participation - upon registration, a list of tools will be sent via email. Homework assignment will be due for certification.
This module is a blend of online/pre-recorded content and live instruction (which will also be offered live stream and recorded for later viewing). Live instruction will be at Yoga Source in Richmond on February 19 from 10am - 3pm EST. Online course content (prerecorded) will be launched January 22.
