In this module, participants will learn yoga practices to improve the symptoms of trauma. Beginning with brief interventions for self-soothing and grounding, to longer term strategies for befriending the body, calming the nervous system, and moving toward self-regulation, healing, and empowerment. How trauma effects physiology and mental processing will aid in understanding the impact that trauma has. Therapeutic tenets will also be addressed to empower yoga teachers to approach students experiencing trauma with sensitivity and confidence.
