20-hr Module. Restorative Yoga is a healing practice that soothes the nervous system by fostering the relaxation response through poses that are held for a period of time, supported by props. In this training you will experience several restorative practices, learn about how the practice supports the nervous system (physiologically and energetically), anatomy of the nervous system, how to prop and cue in a way that is effective and efficient, modifications, how to bring restorative practice into a general yoga class, sequencing, practice teaching, and more.

25-hr Module. An in-depth examination of the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder joint will serve as a foundation for understanding healthy movement and patterns of dysfunction. Participants will learn how to assess for shoulder dysfunction, common injuries, and yoga as a therapeutic intervention. Techniques learned can apply to group classes and one-on-one instruction.
psychology, mental health, & yoga
20-hr Module. A growing body of research demonstrates the efficacy of yoga for mental health including many positive neuro-biologic benefits. Participants will learn how bio-physiology and environment contribute to patterns of healthy functioning. Self care practices to encourage wellness will be experienced as a tool for future use with students. Correlates of stress with anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD will be examined with nervous system balancing approaches for care.
Module hours vary by offering This training will give participants an opportunity to spend more time with yogic philosophical texts including the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Vedas, and others. Philosophy will be explored historically and as it relates to modern times. The approach will be experiential and will cross reference the connection between traditional philosophy and contemporary psychology. Strategies for bringing philosophy into practice and teaching will also be offered

Module hours vary by offering. As teachers, our words are amongst our most powerful tools. Students come to classes with different backgrounds and of different sizes. In this module, you will learn how to accommodate and create an open space for the diversity of students who you teach. Special topics include racism, white privilege, body-welcoming, and more.

subtle body studies/advanced energetics
20-hr Module. This module will offer an in-depth examination of the energetic body from the yogic perspective. Koshas, chakras, vayus, bandhas,and nadis will be examined in depth with their associated relationships to health and consciousness. This energetic map of the body can be influenced by practice to enhance ease and navigate away from dis-ease. Sequencing and class planning, as well as cultivating teaching skills in energetics will be highlighted.

25-hr Module. An in-depth examination of the anatomy and biomechanics of the hip joint will serve as a foundation for understanding healthy movement and patterns of dysfunction. Participants will learn how to assess for hip dysfunction, common injuries of the hips, and yoga as a therapeutic intervention. Techniques learned can apply to group classes and one-on-one instruction.
meditation & pranayama
20-hr Module. Meditation as the 7th limb of the eight-limbed practice of yoga will be explored philosophically, across traditions. In addition, the process of setting intention, ethics and guidelines for practice, how to craft and deliver instruction, and strategies for bringing meditation into practice will be covered. Neuroscience, research, and meditation in the modern world will serve as a bridge for bringing this ancient practice into modern times
The anatomy of the respiratory system will serve as a backdrop for exploring the physiological effects of breath practice. Effects of breathing on the nervous system will be covered and energetic and spiritual qualities will be highlighted. Through this training, participants will build confidence in using pranayama techniques and understand the importance of the relationship between breath and mind.
20-hr Module. Yoga Nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ encompasses the science of deep relaxation. Through a process of guided relaxation, the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world. The state of consciousness achieved is a state between sleep and awake, yet different than meditation in that concentration on a single point is not required. In this module, we explore the depths of yoga tradition and Western science as applied to the practice. Participants will learn history of the practice, physiology, benefits, and tools for guiding students into this transformational practice.
20-hr Module. This training is for teachers looking to learn how to teach yin yoga. Yin yoga is a more passive style of yoga that targets the connective tissues: ligaments, bones, and joints and especially benefits the hips and lower spine. Participants will be lead through yin sequences and learn fascial anatomy, meridian lines, cues and propping, modifications, and how to sequence classes.

Module hours depending on request. Work one-on-one with Diane to hone the skills of your teaching. You decide what you'd like to focus on: business, teaching technique, meditation, anatomy - your choice. You will leave each session with actionable steps for taking your business and teaching to the next level.
20-hr Module. Self Myofascial Release is becoming a complement to yoga as its an effective tool for reducing pain and enhancing range of motion. This training will include a more in-depth study of connective tissue and fascial anatomy, function and dysfunction of the tissue, and the therapeutic application of SMFR techniques in a yoga setting. This is a whole body approach and also reinforces knowledge of anatomy and movement. SMFR tools and techniques will be covered as well as approaches to teaching private and group classes.

teaching skills, business, & leadership
20-hr Module. Skillful communication is reflected in how we use our words, presence, touch, and vision for the class. This module will explore strategies for teaching yoga with greater skill and refinement, challenges faced and troubleshooting strategies for overcoming challenges, enhancing verbal cueing, demonstrations, and hands on assists, growing your teaching experiences from group classes to privates and workshops, and business strategies to take you from instructor to community leader.
yoga & trauma
20-hr Module. In this module, participants will learn yoga practices to improve the symptoms of trauma. Beginning with brief interventions for self-soothing and grounding to longer term strategies for befriending the body, calming the nervous system, and moving toward self- regulation, healing, and empowerment. How the trauma effects our physiology and mental processing will aid in understanding the impact that trauma has. Therapeutic tenets will also be addressed to empower yoga teachers to approach students experiencing trauma with sensitivity and confidence.
10-hr Module. Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences, when practiced together, create a roadmap for health and well being. Fundamental theories and practice of Ayurveda including daily self care practices such as kriyas, nutrition, digestion, balancing the doshas, and cultivating inner fire and vigor will be discussed. This module provides an opportunity for a personal journey within, exploring individual Ayurvedic constitution and creating a lifestyle that leads to inner peace and healing.
